The Rowan County Satellite Jail consists of a 160-bed minimum security adult facility. The 27,621-SF project is a standalone I-3 Use and extremely staff efficient. Open dormitory housing with four direct supervision pods are located adjacent to the main control center for maximizing inmate observation. All dormitories have direct access to natural daylight and a recreation yard directly accessible from each day room. Video visitation allows inmates to have video conversation with family members.

As a smaller jail facility, the spaces were programmed to accommodate needed functions as outlined by the client. Booking with an enclosed sallyport allows direct transfer of inmates out of sight of the general public. A warming kitchen to serve 320 inmates is provided along with laundry services. Administrative offices with private break-room and conference for staff is also included in the facility.
